if you just want to play single player and put up with the bad pathfinding and your whole army chasing after 1 villager leaving your town center totally undefended. That's why I don't like the Steam rating system as "Like" "Don't like", there should be a star (5/5 or 10/10) system.ĭepends. PD: Be very careful about Steam reviews, those are people who played a few hours or just gave some impression, they are not trustworthy. For a player like me who enjoy to play againts the AI only this is a huge disappointment. Just pass from this and buy AoE2 HD or AoE2DE (I still can't decide which of both is the definitive version of the game). That patch is what AoE near gets the "definitive edition" instead of this lame game.

I tried to install AoE1 Original GOLD, that worked, and the uPatch but the patch doesn't work on Windows 10, it was so frustrating. I don't get convinced about the new soundtrack and new sounds either. The graphics is a disappointment too, and some units that looked "cool" now scks e.g.
They did not add campaigns nor more units to the game, just some balances and features. Is abandoned, and there are no "mods" for the game (I mean, they are insignificant comparing with the original AoE game or with AoE2DE, and they are external to Steam not even inside the game).
The game is broken, the performance is very bad (I tested the game in many computers, and one computer runs with extreme low fps the game whilst AoE2 DE runs smoothly and in my main I experienced many crashes, especially with lot of population), MP is dead, path finding and AI is even worse than the original game, is buggy and is not being supported anymore.
